ABOUT THE PLANT SALES

One of the principal activities of the North West Group is to propagate Australian plants and to offer them for sale to members of the public. Two major plant sales - in autumn and spring - are held every year. In addition members and non-members alike are usually able to purchase plants at the monthly meetings, or directly from the nursery (for further information, contact the Propagation Officer, Norma Duff, Ph 6492 3119)

Usually, well over a hundred different species are on offer at each sale, many of them from Tasmania. Plants for sale include trees and shrubs of all sizes, climbers and ground covers, grasses and other tufties. There are plants for all situations (e.g. coastal, frosty, sunny, shady, exposed) and soil types, and all have been carefully selected for propagation due to their proven beauty of form, hardiness in our north-west Tasmanian gardens, or usefulness for particular garden or wildlife situations. Experienced group members are on hand at the sales to offer advice and information.
